8. Monsters Among Us
They live! The Halloween King was brought into existence in Europe during the Dark Ages. The fear and imaginations of men became so potent he simply came to exist. Since then, he has fed off of the imaginations and fears of men, which give him power.
From then, he's used the energy given him by men to create vampires, witches, cursed werewolves, undead monsters, horrifying creatures, and insane scientists to spread fear, panic, discord, and evil throughout the world... for the sole intent to provide him with the sustenance necessary to survive.
What he does not control, is the will of those monsters if they choose to swing the tide of the balance towards good, effectively choking him off from the fear he craves!

Over Volt
|
Dr. Frank Ekstein’s living experiment/cyborg, alien, & dead tissue
The idea is that the opposite of what you think the power would be used by is how it is actually used. Intended to be walking/flying tanks made of living and non-living parts. |
Dr. Frank Ekstein made him to be horrible, terrible, strong, powerful, invincible… and to be a guardian to The Beheaded Revolutionary’s weakness-the magic pumpkin head that keeps his form, horse, and powers intact. The Beheaded Revolutionary was ecstatic. However, the ‘creation’ recognized that its creator and The Beheaded Revolutionary were not wholly good individuals. He himself was, because he was made mostly of individuals/beings that were! That in itself proved to him that The Beheaded Revolutionary was an evil being-it killed good characters so that it could have its created guardian. He was not willing to be made a pawn of his demented creator’s plans. He broke free of his bonds and after a vicious battle with The Beheaded Revolutionary (in which he only defeated it by destroying his pumpkin head) he escaped with the intent to defy and stop his master and his vicious partner forever.
He lives with the horrible feeling that lots of good guys died and were made into him. He is one of the few individuals who is strong enough to stop Impervious.

Tentacles: Taken from ‘Web Worms’ of the Temon Cluster (space). They wait in trees for their prey and spray with strong, sticky webs. They will then spray them with their stomach’s acid and slurp up their prey as it melts off of them. The prey remains alive as they ‘drink’ the flesh from their bones.
Spider legs: Taken from one of the Halloween King’s monsters, a giant roach-spider, whose legs and body are nearly invulnerable. One of the most unique aspects of this beast is that it keeps its protective shell on the inside of its body. The shell surfaces from under its skin when threatened to create a protective cocoon around it. Over Volt has them as well for when his energy/magnetic shields fail.
Regenerative guts: Not only is his skin and defenses nearly impenetrable, he also has a very high healing ability to keep his insides fully functional. This ability was taken from a handful of ‘prowl’ birth-defect individuals. The unique aspect of this function is when it is applied to another: Over Volt can open his body, when he releases his protective roach-spider shells, and put a person inside of him. Disgusting and potentially traumatizing, but this will allow his regenerative abilities to work on the subject as well. Very handy, too, if he needs to keep them safe.

Sundown
Vampire posing as a super hero. From “The New Tournament’s” fantasy time frame in Romania.
By day, he is an entrepreneurial playboy-type investor who provides funds for scientists working on super-hero –style technology and/or weapons. i.e. Dr. Max Schmall. He is not a scientist himself. He is the President of Sundown Inc. By night he fights crime and preys on those that prey on others. He eventually joins Death Match in his hunt for Blood Prowlers, who are a competition to Sundown. Sundown discovers that he can bite/feed off of the Blood Prowlers before they can drain him of his own juices. If he can drain them before they drain him he can kill them with little damage to the body. That is of great worth to Death Match-a good kill with minimal damage means a lot of money. |
Wilde Wolfe
REAL NAME: Hunter Fox
FBI with cursed Indian medallion In his human form he still suffers from doggy-syndrome; enhanced smell & hearing, seeing black & white, drooling, scratching behind his ear, etc. He retains all the memories of his doggy-form. Trying to follow a band of criminals suspected to be linked to a crime syndicate operating out of the Nevada desert, he followed them through a supposedly deserted desert plain, only to discover that it’s actually an old, hidden Indian burial ground. The band seemingly disappeared and the FBI agent stayed behind, looking for clues. An old Indian shaman arrived later and found the agent still there, searching for clues. Feeling the burial ground was desecrated by their weapons and vehicles the shaman cursed him with an ancient Indian artifact that is bonded to him. In the presence of those who need help he transforms into the giant, wolf-like Wilde Wolfe until that person receives the help they need. He will continue to change until he learns to put others first and not be selfish. |
Wolve's Bane
Werewolf hunter
He hunts werewolves with Indian-type weapons. I.e. tomahawks, bolos, blow pipes, spears, etc. all laced with silver. Indian – related to Thunder Chief shaman who cursed Wilde Wolfe. Wears trenchcoat but no shirt. He is the grandson of the Indian who ‘cursed’ Hunter Fox. Wilde Wolfe has to convince him that they are on the same team. |
Black Bane
A true werewolf.
Wilde Wolf's nemesis Has changed into a werewolf for so long he is now a werewolf permanently, however, he also retains his human mind's knowledge and control. |
The Halloween King
Leader of Monster World’s bad guys
The Halloween King was brought into existence in Europe during the Dark Ages. The fear and imaginations of men became so potent he simply came to exist. Since then, he has fed off of the imaginations and fears of men, which give him power. As he gains power by men being afraid, he continues to use his power to create the monsters men are afraid of. He doesn't intent to truly kill, hurt, or destroy so many men that he looses his power. Is actually upset that Pres. Theodore Roosevelt said, “The only thing to fear is fear itself” because he knows it is true. And this simple statement takes power away from him – because it takes fear away from those who believe it. |
Terror Lord
Halloween King's nemesis
That's where the terror of the Terror Lord comes in. The Terror Lord was one of the Halloween King's creations, but he also started to feed off of the fear and terror of the world. He found that the power and energies behind terror was more powerful than just fear. He also discovered that true terror came right before the terrified demise of men. Unfortunately, this led him to become so powerful he was able to root himself away from the Halloween King's control and begin his own campaign of terror across the globe, trying to steal away the fears, horrors, and terrors of men by slaughtering entire villages with his monsters. The Halloween King was so distraught by this betrayal of ethics and disciplines he sent his Mystic Monster-Slayer, Mystic Vista, to stop him before he destroys the entire world of men... and him with them. |
After the Space-going Exoskeleton planetary conquerors are repelled from Earth (and Earth/Mars are included into the interplanetary collective group by Silver Star) the Halloween King realizes something he’d not noticed before: while his reign was originally bound to the planet he suddenly realizes that his reach now extends beyond the ties of this world. Those who have come to and from earth and have reached into the skies above have taken their unfounded paranoia and delusional fears with them – stretching his grip of imagined horrors into the sable skies of space itself! And as the fables of the heroes exploits travel through stories his power increases!
Soon, The Halloween King realizes he is able to leave Earth and begin haunting the very space lanes!
Todd Ticket is able to stop him when he realizes that he can put fear into The Halloween King (with thoughts of hope, peace, faith, love, etc.), which forces him to put his power back into man and creating a balance.

Mystic Vista
The Halloween King’s bodyguard.
Mystic Monster Hunter
Works with Grotesquor. Grotesquor attacks first and if the prey does not subdue then Mystic Vista moves in to destroy. Mystic Vista does not move in to destroy until Grotesquor gives her permission. Grotesquor is the mediator/persuader and Mystic Vista is the destroyer. The Halloween King would prefer to keep his monsters alive and doing their jobs if necessary.
Mystic Vista doesn’t like the way Grotesquor operates but they worked well together until Grotesquor began to abuse his powers. The Halloween King backed up Grotesquor’s use of his power but it didn’t bode well with Mystic Vista.
One day she abandoned everything she was and knew to defend someone/something that Grotesquor was attacking. In her opinion he was torturing it unnecessarily. She then became the very thing that she had been hunting and is now forced to live on the run. During that time she is able to help many.
She then fights to prove to The Halloween King that Grotesquor really does abuse his power – which she does when Grotesquor foolishly turns his power on The Hallowen King – in disguise! Mystic Vista is quickly returned to power and Grotesquor becomes her prey!

Grotesquor
Works with Mystic Vista for The Halloween King to hunt rogue monsters.
Is actually a Space Bat who knew Death Match and died in the wars against the Exoskeleton Slavery race. Is able to control the internal organs of others at will to inflict pain. Is also able to fire energy from his hands that releases the worst kind of ‘pain’ onto his targets – whether it’s mental, physical, or emotional. It could even inflict recollection of a memory. The Halloween King’s reach was limited to earth… until Death Match arrived. With his knowledge of space and beyond earth’s reach The Halloween King’s reach expanded as well. Grotesquor was a Star Bat that Death Match knew who died fighting the Exoskeleton Slavery species. Because Death Match knew him and he came to earth The Halloween King was able to access him through The King of the Dead. The Halloween King put a mask on him and allowed his features to remain as damaged as when he died so that others wouldn’t recognize him. Works with Mystic Vista. Witch Haglegarth & Gaunt
The Halloween King
From “The New Tournament’s” fantasy time frame. Human-Gypsy/Witch-from Beauty’s gypsy group. One of The Halloween King’s many lackeys who tries to invent nifty ways to scare the socks off of men and presents her ideas to him to see if he will let them do what he wants. Gaunt
Witch Haglegarth’s tall, zombie-like butler/lacky/grave-filler.

The Beheaded RevolutionaryOne of The Halloween King's favorite monsters.
The head collector. Often helps harvest organs for Triage - or buys heads from him. Sometimes works with Dr. Frank Ekstein’s ‘creations’ – first one and then the other. Robs morgues and graves, looking for heads to wear and collect so that he can live in the mortal world. Body and horse are indestructible, but the pumpkin head is the source of his power. In order to temporarily destroy them someone must destroy the pumpkin. The body collapses and the horse disappears. When the horse rider puts a head on, it is restored to perfect condition. The rider gains all of the head's personality traits, skills, and memories. This allows him to pretend to live the person's life until he is ready to move on to the next person. The revolutionary keeps extra heads in glass jars for both display and use. If the pumpkin head is destroyed it releases pumpkin seeds. The seeds plant and grow into a new pumpkin head. Once a new pumpkin head is created the body becomes animated again and the horse reappears. The horse's hoofs, mane, and tail are all alight with fire. The horse breathes fire from its nostrils. Rider can throw fireballs from the horse's mane, tail, or hoofs. The rider is also super strong. The horse can ride across any surface. |
However, the horse and revolutionary cannot travel across any bridges that extend over water. The combination of positive energy from the land and water repels him like magnets. If he tries, it will sever the connection from his pumpkin head and destroy him again, starting the process over.
So the horse can travel over land or water, but not both.
Revolutionary used to be a "Paul Revere" type character in Paris, France during the time of the French/English Revolutionary War. He was English, trying to help the French, like the "Scarlet Pimpernel, but was caught. He cried for revenge before he was beheaded by the guillotine. A gypsy/witch (Hagelgarth) head his plea and made it happen, with the permission of the Halloween King, who hoped he would work for him. However, the head collector is too unpredictable and could not be controlled or reasoned with-He was too driven by his revenge.
When he came to be, he hunted down the guillotine's executioner and took his head off of his living body. He then took his place and allowed people to escape.
Now, he just tries to fit in and forget the monster he is, while trying to avoid the Halloween King's monster hunter, Mystic Vista!
Often times he is in competition with the body collector and henchman of Dr. Frank Ekstein, Spare Parts.

Wrath of Ra
Powers include immortality, invulnerability, power over fire, sand, and beetles. He can also control his mummy wrappings to either lash out to attack, carry, fight, or act as a blinding smoke screen.
The son of the Pharaoh who was not supposed to be part of his Magician's spell. One of the Pharaoh's closest bodyguards earned the right to have the spell cast on him, but the son jumped into his place instead. The spell was to be an honor to bring justice to the enemies of the kingdom in the time it was being destroyed by its enemies, as a last ditch effort. The son of Ra was never allowed to live his life; trapped away under the lock and key of the palace's security for safety reasons. The son confided in the bodyguard and the two became close friends. When the son learned of the spell he saw it as a way of escaping his royal prison and earn the pride of his father. Turn Key
Living Skeleton
The bodyguard instead got the next best thing so he could watch over the Pharaoh's son forever with him. Capable of manipulating/growing his bones to do anything he wants. I.e. weapons, tools, change shape, etc. He also will be able to influence the Exoskeleton’s external bone structure! |
Vasir of Ra
Jealous that the Pharaoh chose his son's bodyguard over him to try his own magic spell on, the Vasir sold the Empire out to their enemies.
During the decimation of the kingdom the spell was accidentally cast upon the Pharaoh's weakling son, who used the power to force the Vasir to flee. The bodyguard was instead given the secondary honor, becoming the immortal bone man, so he could watch over the son and show him how to use his powers. Forced to start all over again, the Vasir eventually cast both spells on himself to give him the powers of both the Wrath of Ra and the bodyguard Turn Key! Now armed with both their abilities he is determined to finish what he started, and destroy the last in the line of Ra! |
The Seed Queen
Plant-based people cloner Queen.
Created by Maneater’s father, who (unfortunately), stayed busy after he ran away from the nightmare he made his daughter to become. Thinking he was developing a disposable army for the military it (of course) went horribly wrong. The Seed Queen was rescued by its pod-followers and secured where the military couldn’t find it to destroy it. The infestation then swept the land. The Queen sends out vines that capture the DNA tissue of others and lulls the original donors into sleep with a powerful sleeping pollen. It then creates pods where it create several copies of the same person. Those plant-people (with others, if necessary) then capture the (hopefully) sleeping person where they are stored in plant-based ‘reserves’ (pickled-people!). The process then continues. The Claw and his group were forced to hunt them all down and wipe them out! Unfortunately, just like the Headless Revelutionary, the first thing a Queen does is create a new Queen seed… in case anything happens to it. With the BioMechanical Virus attacks, The Claw is forced to concede to the notion that as dangerous as a potential threat they may be, they may need them. He takes the risk of asking Shackle and other non-mechanic heroes to allow themselves to be put asleep/copied/imprisoned by the plant-people’s Queen so that they can have an army to fight against the new bio-computer threat. Little do our heroes know that the Seed Queen has a different agenda up her stalks. |
